About

Raise Naqvi is the CEO of Electronic Interconnect Engineering, a company built on delivering end-to-end electronics engineering solutions, from concept design to full-scale production, serving both local and international industries.

With a strong foundation in engineering and exposure to global scientific environments, including experiences connected with CERN, his perspective was shaped by working in domains where data, complexity and scale push beyond the limits of traditional systems. It was here that a critical realisation emerged: while artificial intelligence is transforming the world, its progress is ultimately constrained by classical computational architectures.

Development of a high-efficiency push-pull Class-D MOSFET power amplifier tailored for RFID applications

International Journal of Microwave and Wireless Technologies · 2026

Abstract. Class-D amplifiers offer significant potential for achieving efficient and high-power RF amplification. By converting the collector dissipation of conventional amplifiers into load power components and employing filtering to eliminate unwanted frequencies, Class-D amplifiers achieve superior overall efficiency. This study proposes and investigates a high-efficiency push-pull Class-D power amplifier integrated with a carefully designed matching network. A proof-of-concept circuit was designed and fabricated; operating within 7.7 to 8.7 MHz, the amplifier achieved a power-added efficiency of 89.26% and an output power of 49.54 dBm. The consistency between simulated and measured results underscores the reliability of the design and its suitability for wireless RFID applications.

ALICE upgrades during the LHC Long Shutdown 2

Journal of Instrumentation · 2024

Abstract. A Large Ion Collider Experiment (ALICE) has been conceived and constructed as a heavy-ion experiment at the LHC. During LHC Runs 1 and 2 it produced a wide range of physics results using all collision systems available at the LHC. To best exploit the new physics opportunities opening up with the upgraded LHC and new detector technologies, the experiment underwent a major upgrade during Long Shutdown 2 (2019 to 2022): the move to continuous readout, the complete overhaul of core detectors, and a new online event processing farm with a redesigned online-offline software framework. These improvements allow Pb-Pb collisions to be recorded at rates up to 50 kHz while keeping sensitivity for signals without a triggerable signature.

First demonstration of in-beam performance of bent Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors

arXiv · 2021

Abstract. A novel approach for the next generation of vertex detectors foresees wafer-scale sensors that can be bent to truly cylindrical geometries after thinning them to 20 to 40 μm. To solidify this concept, the feasibility of operating bent MAPS was demonstrated using 1.5 cm × 3 cm ALPIDE chips. Already at 50 μm thickness they can be bent to radii of about 2 cm without mechanical or electrical damage, and a characterisation with a 5.4 GeV electron beam confirmed that they preserve full electrical functionality and particle detection performance, with detection efficiencies above 99.9% at typical operating conditions. The bending procedure, the characterisation setup and the beam-test analysis are detailed.
